Driver Detective
Driver Detective
A program that will scan your computer for all hardware devices and then compare your current drivers with a large database of the most up to date drivers available. You are then able to download each driver easily with the click of a button.
Interface
The interface of Driver Detective is very clean and easy to read. The buttons are colorful, although we thought the download and other informational icons were perhaps a touch too small.
Ease Of Use
Driver Detective is very easy to use. The scan runs very fast, so you’re not waiting around very long. Our test scan took about 5 seconds. Everything is very intuitive, and there’s a small key that shows you how to read all the icons.

Downloading drivers requires just a click from the Driver Detective interface.

Features
When the program opens for the first time, you have to choose the Manufacturer, Model and Family of your computer, if you own a brand name PC, or simply check Unknown, for a custom build.
The next natural step is to press the Scan Now button and wait for this software detective to gather all the information it needs about your system’s hardware and software.
The good part is that once the previous operation is complete, you can download latest drivers for your system…or you should, because the trial version is very limited. You won’t be able to download drivers or change the program’s settings.
Well, at least the Vista Ready? tool is working. As its name says, this tool can be used to check if your computer is capable of running Windows Vista using the classic interface, as well as using the new Aero one(system requirements for Aero are pretty high, when compared to the basic Vista interface). These being said, your time has come to grab this interesting download, and mine, to draw the conclusions.
The Good
Driver Detective is a program that looks great and can save you a lot of time. It has access to a huge drivers database and is very easy to use.
The Bad
The trial version is useless, when considering the goal of the full program. Also, I think the price is just…”a little big”.
Conclusion
If you’re one of those who hate looking for drivers in the strangest places, you won’t have to leave any web site untouched until finding the latest ones your computer needs. All you have to do is grab Driver Detective and let it do this job for you, so if you have the money, go ahead and make a smart buy!

How would you recommend that I go about installing a communications driver for a machine that is not currently connected to the internet, at tis time.
I am trying to get just the communications drivers for an ASUS motherboard model A7NBX-e ***(I just realized that this number could be A7N8X-E ***) my vision is not that good these days.
We lost the original disk with the drivers. I figure that if I can get the basic communications in place, I can themn run your program completely and do all my updates from you guys or directly from the ASUS site.
I believe that the Communuications drivers were originally by Marvel.
I have the ability to connect directly to a broadband router, but can no nothing until I get at least the basic communications features running.
Otherwise, are you people familiar with a site where I could download the complete disk (to a different machines) and then burn that to a CD or DVD and then install everythng from there?
I started out by seeking just that, ….. the ability to reproduce the entire original disk. If that can’t be done, then perhaps just the communications drivers will be sufficient to get this process underway.
In this case, the OS in place is Windows XP.
Thanks
