I have given this pen a week to impress me, and it has. I bought one for myself and one as a gift for my father. You can tell after using the pen a bit that it is probably the future of note-taking. The reason is not because your notes are put into PDF format (you could simply do this by taking regular notes and then scanning your paper into PDF format), but rather because you can make an audio recording of your meeting in real time along with your notes. Two things to be aware of: (1) I don’t think this pen would be very helpful for a college student that sits in the back row at lectures. The audio quality is excellent, but is geared for having a meeting with two to several people in a room– I think I would sit close to the sound source if I was going to use this for taking notes at a seminar or lecture. (2) Most states require that you let all parties to a conversation know that they are being recorded. Sometimes you cannot record (i.e. conferences or seminars often don’t allow audio recording and my local courtrooms do not allow audio or video recording while the court is in session).

This pen would be a God-send at a meeting of four or five people discussion a project at work. The person taking notes can not only record the conversation, but simply write down the key points and then later click on the key points to see who offered what sort of ideas. As an attorney, I think cops should be required to carry these pens so that there is no misunderstanding as to what was said or how it was later noted in a report. I am going to use this pen for my client meetings and for taking notes from witnesses.

I received my Livescribe 4GB Pulse Smartpen as a gift for Christmas and eagerly plugged it in immediately upon receiving it. What I didn’t know was that my Mac had a version of OSX that was too old, so the desktop interface would not work… a simple $25 fix on Amazon. I now not only have a new Livescribe pen, but Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard as well.

After the Snow Leopard installation, everything works flawlessly. I have a demo version of the transcribing software and except for an unusual word or two, it works very well also. I used the pen to record a meeting while I took notes and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. I can click anywhere on my notes and hear the audio that was recorded at that moment. Marvelous!

My plans for the pen are to use it for pen casts for my online business and also when my husband and I read our next financial book together aloud, I will take notes and record our thoughts for later review. I will use it as well when I attend various business and/or other meetings.

If you are a Mac user, I have looked diligently and I don’t see any other options, unless you have a Windows interface on your Mac. This is your digital pen of choice.

If you are a PC user, there are other options, but this pen has more bells and whistles than any other pen I researched and the company has a reputation for high quality.

Well, I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about this stand. Normally, I don’t write a lot of reviews unless something is very bad, or very good. This falls into the latter category.

Was going to purchase a stand similar to this from a competitor (online computer store) and actually found the same stand they were selling for $60 less on Amazon. So, I did some additional checking, and found this with the glowing reviews. So, I thought for the price, I would give it a try. With shipping, it worked out to a tad over $50. Arrived at my doorstep in four days in good condition and packed appropriately. Don’t expect a lot of peanuts or stuff like that in the packaging, but it’s a SOLID STEEL stand, so how’s it going to get hurt in transit?

The stand is extremely sturdy, and every single part is heavy steel and well constructed. It comes with a single picture sheet of instructions, which is good enough to put it together. Some people have noted that they needed two people to do this, but I didn’t have any issues with it. Laid the monitors on my bed and mounted the bracket that way, mounted the pole to my desk, and then dropped the pole in. No problems doing it myself at all. Perhaps they were trying to mount the monitors after they attached the arms to the desk? Definitely not the way to go.

Arms are fully adjustable once you get everything done, and it has cable management clips to route everything off the monitors.

I just wanted to let you know that even though it is described as up to 22″, it easily fit two 24″ wide screen (1920×1200) Samsung monitors side by side, with room to spare, i.e. I can separate them a bit.

I also agree that it is very sturdy, seems very well built, and was very easy to set-up and mount the monitors.

Excellent purchase at $39 (but watch out, sometimes Amazon picks a seller that sells it for $139 plus $30 SH)

Previous reviews say it all. VERY, VERY beefy stand. Can’t believe the price on this thing is so cheap (purchased through OutletPC). This can easily be mistaken for a $125+ stand.

A couple of somewhat dissenting points though.

1. Although the stand allows vertical adjustment of monitors, it’s an all or nothing proposition. Each monitor’s height cannot be adjusted individually (however, each monitor can be independently tilted and swiveled in every usable direction). This can be a very, very minor annoyance if you’re using two monitors with differing mounting locations as one monitor might wind up being too high and/or the other too low. This is my situation, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

2. As a couple of other reviewers said, the clamp on this stand requires a lot of clearance on the underside of the desk; it’s ideally suited for tables and desks with an open backside. If the back of your desk is blocked off though, depending on the material, you don’t have to resort to cutting a big chunk of it out to clear the clamp. The clamp is made of two parts so you can actually leave the bottom part off and just bolt the actual stand to the back of the table. I posted a picture of the instructions, and you can see from Step 1 how the clamp is assembled and get an idea of the solution I propose.

These are both super, super minor issues though and should not prevent you from buying this stand.

I’ve printed nearly 3000 pages with this toner already, and my printer claims it’s only half gone. I couldn’t be happier with how well it works as well as the price. I usually don’t buy OEM cartridges, but this one is a reasonable price, and I got the printer at such a steal of a deal(and it’s a wonderful printer) that I feel good about buying the OEM cartridge.

I haven’t tried the tape over the end trick like others have suggested, but I will once the toner says it’s gone. I wish I would’ve known about that trick when my printer was on its starter cartridge.

I ordered a new toner cartridge to replace the ‘starter’ cartridge that came with the printer – when the toner light started blinking. A couple of weeks after the new cartridge arrived, the toner light went ‘solid’ and would not print. So, I used the ‘tape over the port’ trick to fool it into continuing to print. That worked and the starter cartridge is still printing fine – no streaking or significant fading yet. I still have it set on draft print mode for routine printing. Oh, I forgot to mention that I applied the tape in March of this year!! I’m writing this in early October. I don’t print ‘tons’ but I’m sure I’ve printed another 1000 pages or so since the cartridge was showing empty. This is my 3rd similar Brother printer, (wired, then ethernet, then wireless) and all have worked fine as have the replacement toner cartridges.

This is easily the best Logitech mouse yet. I own both the G5 and G9, and settled on the G5 as my primary mouse some time ago after hating the grip of the G9 (neither one felt natural to me). This was a problem, since I felt the G9 performed better but it just wasn’t comfortable. As a result, I’m going to compare the G500 to the G5.

On the ergonomic side the G500 has had the ridge on the upper-right whittled down, making the mouse far more comfortable–especially if you hold your middle finger on the right mouse button (instead of the ring finger as some people do). This gives your ring finger a much more natural place to rest. The palm rest also feels a bit wider and raised, making the palm grip even better than the G5. Thumb button placement is fine, though I preferred the larger G5 buttons. Sensitivity toggles have moved to the upper left, making changes easier while using the index finger. Logitech has also blessed us with a mouse wheel toggle (free spin/click) that is on the top of the mouse instead of the bottom as they did on the G9. This is a huge plus for me, as I run it in free mode while browsing and click mode when gaming and I tend to alternate between the two regularly.

Performance-wise, it’s technically better than the G9 and noticeably superior to the G5. The Setpoint software that is used with the G500 is also different from that of the G5, allowing for more control over the mouse. For those curious about performance in specific gaming genres I can’t comment–I play almost every game genre and feel this mouse excels at them all. I’m also using it on a RAZER Goliathus Control mouse pad which is nice and smooth without feeling like there’s zero friction as I tend to like some drag on my mouse.

One other note: The G5 weight cage will not work in the G500. The cage in the G500 has been altered a bit; two weight slots have been removed and the alignment track is gone. The G500 uses the same weights as the G5, however (1.7g and 4.5g).

I’d recommend this mouse to any G5 owner without hesitation. If you’re a claw-grip user you could still use it, but the G9x is probably a better choice for that style of usage.

The Razer Naga is a very nice gaming mouse. Same quality as the Lachesis. Razer makes great mice.

I don’t normally get on here and write reviews…as I’m normally too busy between a full time job, a full raid schedule and other stuff going on, but after reading some of these reviews I felt the need to post this. This mouse is absolutely wonderful. It feels very comfortable and all buttons are reachable. There is a little bit of a learning curve with initial use. My advice is to start small; bind three of the number buttons first and then once you have those down, add three more. You will be up to all twelve side buttons in no time.
In regards to those users that are having configuration problems here is a simple solution: I don’t utilize the Razer addons, though in my opinion they are very similar to Bartender4. You can bind the weapons to any spell/action you need by simply either using the Wow in-game mapper (on the startup menu) or download the addon Bindpad, drag to the interface, and profit.
